Introducing Your Dog to the Treadmill
Many behavioral issues in dogs are directly related to how much mental and physical exercise they are getting on a daily basis. Dogs who aren’t given proper outlets for their energy will often find their own, less than ideal, outlets. Similarly, dogs who do not get proper amounts of physical activity incorporated in their daily lives can often become overweight and are more prone to health issues. While treadmills are not meant to be the sole source of your dogs physical activity, they are an excellent option to burn some of that excess energy and help manage your dogs weight. This video shows how to properly introduce your dog to a treadmill and some of the details to pay attention to when incorporating a treadmill into your dogs fitness routine.

Great video with helpful tips! We really liked the description of "pace" versus "trot" at 2:15 this will help us with future treadmill time for #Jaxon
Is there a certain age you recommend to start with? I'm trying to work with my Malamute pup(about 4 months) since we are quarantined for the Coronavirus and so exercising is scary since I dont want an infected person to touch him, thus spreading it to others that touch that same spot. Thank you
Hey, Grandma. How's about another grape soda?
COOL- here's another option for the runners/pullers that is more fun for dog and owner- dog powered mobility fun- for urban sidewalks and single track trails- it can handle 3 and even 4 dogs! http://www.dogpoweredscooter.com
Get a harness for that poor dog pls
Can't you just let the dog run in the backyard ?
I do have a question. My boy was comfortable walking on the mill. I bumped his speed up and he wouldn't switch from a pace to a jog. He spooked himself because he couldn't pace fast enough. Tips?
This was the most helpful video. I have watched quite a few, and this was honestly the best.
Whats the max weight for the dog pacer treadmill
What a beautiful dog!
This is a good idea. Hope your product goes well!
Just take the mutt for a walk or toss a ball you lazy fuck
Great video! How big is the treadmill?
Wow! great! – i just bougth a "ordinary" treadmill for me and my dog, a Parson Jack Russel, and he got the grip of it right away! he loves it! – How long walks/runs do you do, (in time) ? – greetings from Sweden, Levi – (i am elderly and bought this for winteruse)
Another great vid! I just got a free treadmill I will use for my hyper pup! It's 104 degrees today, so it will defiantly help!
So nice to see a mix of trainers getting on 🙂 Thank you 🙂
Go for a walk.
So happy to see "shields"/ panels on the sides. We hav two different brands ( Mera dog + ? do not know+ but both has rails /walls. makes it a lot more safe and i see our dogs love it. We have always put treats and toys around in our training room – also ON the mill -so they have to go on to it in a proper way because of the panels/ This makes the dogs a lot more confident when it comes to trying out the mill. 🙂 Great way to train the dogs.. But i see they have to be long enough for the dog to avoid the leg getting caught under.. a gate at the back is super dangerous.. so if anyone is making a human treadmill to fit a dog they must be careful .
Leerburg, thanks for this vid. Can you comment on how young is too young for a pup on the treadmill? And what distances should a pup should be limited to? Thanks!
Very I formative video
