Walking In Snow – Virtual Forest Walk For 30 Minute Treadmill Workout – Snowy English Woods
Trail hiking in fresh snow on a peaceful winter morning at the Lickey Hills Country Park in central England, UK. Light snow falling during video, with snow lying 5 inches or 12 cm deep from heavier fall earlier. Beautiful scenery of pines and other trees laden with snow, with paths taking us through forest trails, past duck ponds, then up steep slopes to the ridge of Rednal Hill (see below…) with views towards both city and countryside.
From Wikipedia: In 1904, J. R. R. Tolkien, author of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, moved to Rednal with his mother, who had been ill and was convalescing. The Lickey Hills became a favourite haunt and are thought to be an inspiration for the mythical Shire, where the hobbits lived in his books.

The hill we climb in the second half of the video is Rednal Hill, and in fact when we come down the other side we go just a little way into Rednal. This means we are entering the city of Birmingham from Worcestershire. Not quite as far as any factories, but a little closer to Mordor in terms of Tolkien's symbolism!
Brilliant to have this snow walk put up today when we actually have snow on the ground, but some of us who are Shielding and/or are too old to go and do this this for real anyway, can't go and do the real thing. I've just had a 30 mins jog-on-the-spot through snow! Amazing! Thank you so much Chris. Virtual jogging has been a life-saver for me during Lockdown.
Thank you for this video. Lovely 🤗
